Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas derails Canes National Championship aspirations with 35-18 upset

Head Coach Joe Kinnan's Manatee Hurricanes will once again lose out on a mythical "National Title" by being upset by St Thomas 35-18 in a game that was as lopsided as the score. Senior QB Cord Sandburg was harrassed all night long and had his worst game of the year as the nations top team would go down in front of 8 thousand fans in the stands at Brian Piccolo Stadium.  Manatee falls to 13-1 while St Thomas (12-2)advances to the state title game against Tallahassee Lincoln who beat Osceola to earn their birth in the title game. St Thomas and Manatee have a long history of costing each other National Titles with playoff upsets over each other.
