Danica Patrick's Speedweeks is off to a stellar start.

Mark your calendars now and get ready to "reach up and pull those belts down
tight one more time!" The Daytona 500 on FOX is set for noon ET on Feb. 24.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year contender flashed her new car's muscle
early, taking the lead in the opening Daytona 500 practice session at Daytona
International Speedway. Patrick led the field in the first hour with a top lap
of 195.359 mph and held that spot until the closing minutes of the session.
Patrick followed up the effort with a stellar run in the second session. Waiting
until late to go out, she took two laps and once more topped the field, with a
speed of 196.219 mph.
Patrick is driving for Stewart-Haas Racing in her first full season of Cup
competition - and was ahead of veteran teammates Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman on
